This is an exceptional quality ladies panama straw hat made in a fedora style with turned up edge to the brim

suitable for evening or moderately cool temperatures

but given the complexity of the pattern

not pliable like typical fur felt - I assume that it has to be like this in order to both be water repellent and maintain its shape
