I have always had a weakness for Roberto Voerzio's 2000 Barolo Cerequio
A broadranging and wonderfully elegant array features notes of spice
A completely backward but superbly complex nose displays layered aromas that run to game and underbrush as well as ripe red and dark berry fruit trimmed in a bit of wood toast that give way to rich
The mouthfeel is fleshy and generous and there is plenty of backbone here to carry the wine forward throughout the years
it enters the palate with softness and elegance
Chapoutier, Ermitage Blanc Ermite other_regions I have always had aLimpid yellow gold. Expansive orange, dried pear, honeydew melon and floral aromas show outstanding clarity and mineral lift. Silky and taut on entry, then fleshier on the mid palate, offering powerful citrus, pit fruit and candied ginger flavors, along with subtle tarragon and vanilla qualities. Finishes on a resonating pear note, with emphatic mineral cut and excellent focus. Josh Raynolds
